At NJ Play Sports, we separate many of our programs by skill level to help players know what to expect when signing up. 

Players and teams grade themselves and choose the level that best matches the experience they’re looking for. This doesn’t mean that a competitive player can’t join a recreational or intermediate league, but we do expect everyone to show up in the spirit of fun, support others, and enjoy the game.

Recreational
A laid back league designed for players of mixed experience levels, from those brand new to the sport, to those who’ve played before but may be a bit out of practice. The emphasis is on fun, teamwork, and enjoying the game in a more relaxed setting.

Intermediate
For players with more consistent experience, often from high school or other organized leagues. Competition is stronger, and gameplay is faster paced, but still welcoming.

Competitive
For experienced players and teams who’ve played at a high level, including college, organized league or professional experience. Games are highly competitive and best suited for those seeking strong competition, but still welcoming and aimed at having fun!
